Report: Knicks plan to pursue Kawhi, believe Kyrie prefers Nets The New York Knicks are going to "aggressively pursue" expected free agent Kawhi Leonard this summer, sources told SNY's Ian Begley. Additionally, the Knicks' plans to pursue Kyrie Irving may be affected by a belief among teams that the Brooklyn Nets are his favored destination if he leaves the Boston Celtics, according to the report. Irving reportedly plans to opt out of the final year of his current contract before Thursday, paving the way for him to enter unrestricted free agency. Leonard is expected to opt out of his deal before June 30. Leonard has not been widely linked with New York throughout this year's free-agent rumor mill.

What could be a career-altering Achilles injury for Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant isn't enough to scare off interested parties with the start of free agency just weeks away.

The New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers are expected to remain vigilant in their pursuit of the 10-time All-Star despite any uncertainty over his long-term health, sources told The Athletic's David Aldridge.

Durant exited Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night early in the second quarter with what Warriors general manager Bob Myers later revealed was an injured Achilles. It was Durant's first taste of action since May 8 against the Houston Rockets following a nine-game absence with a strained right calf.

Report: Durant to travel with Warriors to Toronto

Report: Durant to travel with Warriors to Toronto Injured Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant will travel to Toronto for Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals, a league source told Yahoo's Chris Haynes. Durant has already been ruled out of Thursday's series opener due to his right calf strain. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Monday that he wasn't sure if Durant would travel with the team. Tuesday's development at least presents the possibility that Durant could suit up in Sunday's Game 2 against the Raptors. Durant hasn't played since hurting his calf during Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets. He has been shooting on his own but hasn't practiced with teammates since the injury.
