Coming off her epic head-kick knockout of Jessica Eye at UFC 238, Valentina Shevchenko will defend her flyweight championship against Liz Carmouche on Aug. 10 at UFC Fight Night in Uruguay, sources told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

The two fighters battled in September 2010 at a regional show in Oklahoma, during which Carmouche handed Shevchenko her first professional MMA defeat.

Carmouche is one of only two fighters to emerge victorious from a fight with the flyweight queen; the other being Amanda Nunes, who defeated Shevchenko twice.

Shevchenko (17-3) captured the flyweight belt in December when she defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk via unanimous decision. She'll look for a second successful title defense at Antel Arena in Montevideo.

Shevchenko (17-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) took out challenger Jessica Eye (14-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) with a stunning and massive left kick to the head early in the second round. The kick left Eye out cold on the canvas for several minutes while cageside doctors attended to her. When she finally sat back up, it was to cheers from the fans that she was OK. But the bigger cheers were for Shevchenko's first defense of her women's flyweight title as a favorite of roughly 14-1.
