Lopez beats Raonic to set up showdown with Auger-Aliassime LONDON — Former winner Feliciano Lopez hit 16 aces to beat Milos Raonic 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) in the Queen's Club quarterfinals on Friday. Lopez, who was the tournament's oldest champion when he won at 35 in 2017, next faces up-and-coming star Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals. The 18-year-old Canadian defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-5, 6-2. The age differential between the players will be the greatest in an ATP Tour semifinal or final since the 43-year-old Ken Rosewall defeated 23-year-old American Pat Dupre to reach the Hong Kong Grand Prix final in 1977. Also, the fourth-seeded Daniil Medvedev defeated Diego Schwartzman 6-2, 6-2 for a semifinal against Gilles Simon.

WIMBLEDON , England — Canadians Milos Raonic and Felix Auger-Aliassime both are off to the third round at Wimbledon . Raonic , the No. 15 seed from Thornhill, Ont., beat Robin Haase of the Netherlands 7-6 Raonic , a runner-up at Wimbledon in 2016, will next face American Reilly Opelka .

Reilly Opelka entered his second- round match at Wimbledon against Stan Wawrinka with an 11-inch height advantage on the three-time major champion. The unseeded American took out the No. 22 seed on Wednesday at the All England Club, overcoming a 2-1 set deficit to advance in five sets.

The No. 15 seed from Thornhill, Ont., defeated American Reilly Opelka 7-6 (1), 6-2, 6-1 in a third-round match on Friday.

Raonic, the 2016 Wimbledon runner-up, hasn't lost a set this tournament. He'll face the winner of a match between No. 4 seed Kevin Anderson of South Africa and No. 26 Guido Pella of Argentina in the fourth round.

No. 19 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal was scheduled to face Ugo Humbert of France in a third-round match later Friday.

Two Canadian men never have advanced to the round of 16 in a Grand Slam in the same year.
