The Los Angeles Lakers are planning to host individual workouts with Joakim Noah, Marreese Speights, and Dwight Howard this week in their search for a new center following DeMarcus Cousins' ACL tear, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Memphis Grizzlies, who traded for Howard this summer, recently granted the Lakers permission to speak with him. Memphis has been expected to trade or waive the former All-Star before the season begins, while ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported Sunday that the Lakers are not the only team interested in his services.

Noah is currently a free agent after appearing in 42 games last season with the Grizzlies. The former Defensive Player of the Year averaged 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds in Memphis.

The Lakers are focused on doing their due diligence on Howard after DeMarcus Cousins suffered a torn ACL while playing in Las Vegas, a team source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. Although Howard was acquired by the Grizzlies from the Washington Wizards in July, Memphis is expected to either trade or waive the former All-Star big man. If Howard is eventually released and signs with the Lakers, it would be his second stint in L.A.

Dwight Howard is not the only aging center under consideration by the Lakers . The Lakers have been patient in approach since Cousins' injury, and another accomplished veteran center on the market is Joakim Noah .

Speights spent last season in China with the Guangzhou Long-Lions. Before heading to Asia, the 32-year-old played 10 consecutive seasons in the NBA. He served as a backup center on the Golden State Warriors' championship-winning squad in 2015.

Los Angeles is also considering big man Marcin Gortat, who is currently overseas, Wojnarowski added. Gortat started 43 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season but was waived in February and never signed with another team.

Cousins is expected to miss the 2019-20 season after tearing his ACL during a recent workout in Las Vegas. Though Anthony Davis has some past experience at center, the Lakers reportedly don't plan to play the superstar at the position for extended periods of time, leaving Javale McGee as the only true center on the current roster.
