MLB world reacts to the Red Sox shockingly firing Dave Dombrowski
As the NFL finished up its first Sunday of regular season action this year, it’s the Major League Baseball world that’s making news. Immediately after Boston’s 10-5 loss to the New York Yankees at Fenway, the Red Sox announced that they have fired team president Dave Dombrowski. Given that the Sox are defending champs and have seen a ton of success under the leadership of the longtime executive, this is an absolutely shocking move. Sure Boston is not going to be playing playoff baseball in October, but most figured that Dombrowski has more than earned his keep. Reactions from the MLB world indicated as much.
He entered Tuesday’s action hitting .330 with 44 homers and 97 RBI while leading the National League in on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS.
No matter who you root for, this is just a brutal injury. The Major League Baseball world reacted in kind.
