Jaguars trade for Josh Dobbs after Foles injury

Jaguars trade for Josh Dobbs after Foles injury The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded a 2020 fifth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for quarterback Josh Dobbs, the teams announced on Monday. The move comes after Jaguars starting pivot Nick Foles broke his clavicle Sunday versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury left rookie Gardner Minshew as the only quarterback on Jacksonville's roster. Dobbs was third on the Steelers' quarterback depth chart, behind Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph. He was Pittsburgh's fourth-round pick in 2017 and has appeared in just five games while playing in mop-up duty. Minshew will remain the Jaguars' starting quarterback for now, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

'' Requesting the trade it's kind of been building over time,'' Ramsey said on the podcast, which was taped Monday. ''It has nothing to do with my teammates here. ''Some disrespectful things were said on their end that made me definitely walk out and call my agent as soon as I walked out,'' Ramsey said.

Ramsey said the trade request stemmed from "some disrespectful things said on their end" in a meeting after the Jaguars ' loss Sunday at Houston. Ramsey said Tuesday neither he nor his agent had anything to do with his trade request becoming public. He said he didn't want to be a distraction

Jalen Ramsey's desire to leave the Jacksonville Jaguars apparently stems from a "disrespectful" conversation he had with the team's decision-makers.

In an appearance Thursday on Uninterrupted's "17 Weeks" podcast, the star cornerback explained why he requested a trade away from the Jaguars, though he opted not to name who the discussion was with.

"Some disrespectful things were said on their end that made me definitely walk out and call my agent as soon as I walked out, and I told him, I said, 'It's time; my time is up here in Jacksonville. I want to ask for a trade,'" Ramsey said, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. "I was truly at peace. I wasn't in a mindset of making a decision while I was angry; I was completely calm. I still stand by my decision to ask for a trade."

Ramsey 's request comes after he and head coach Doug Marrone got into a heated dispute on the sideline Sunday. Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey has requested a trade from the team, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported. Marrone walked over to Ramsey to try and talk , but tensions

Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey asked for a trade after last Sunday’s game. The Jaguars didn’t move him before Thursday and he was active for Jacksonville “Some disrespectful things were said on their end that made me definitely walk out and call my agent as soon as I walked out,” Ramsey said.

Ramsey suited up for Thursday Night Football against the Tennessee Titans despite the fact that he reportedly doesn't expect to be with Jacksonville by Week 4.

The Jaguars apparently considered trading Ramsey last season. The Pro Bowler later said he would ask for an "ungodly" amount of money to re-sign with the Jaguars.

Ramsey admitted that his frustration with Jacksonville's front office, and subsequent desire to leave, has "been building over a little bit of time."

"It has nothing to do with my teammates here - I love my teammates here. It has nothing to do with the city - I love the city here," said Ramsey. "Still doing my charity work here, still out with the fans, signing autographs, taking pictures, whatever. I love the city here, I love my teammates, but it's more so with the front office and the organization."

While the Jaguars no longer are interested in having Ramsey as part of their future, the cornerback reportedly isn't short of suitors.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks have all made substantive inquiries, while nearly every NFL team has contacted the Jaguars about a potential trade.

Jaguars’ Ramsey misses practice again because of back injury .
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Disgruntled defender Jalen Ramsey missed his fifth consecutive practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday. Ramsey was listed on the injury report with a back injury, the same issue that caused him to miss the first game of his four-year NFL career. “We’re going to look at it, talking to Jalen today,” coach Doug Marrone said. “Basically it’s a day-to-day type thing.” Quarterback Gardner Minshew, meanwhile, practiced despite a left knee injury. Denver linebacker Todd Davis hit Minshew low on the first play of Jacksonville’s game-winning drive.
