Donald Brashear, a former player for the Montreal Canadiens, is reportedly working at a Quebec City Tim Hortons outlet.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Brashear is serving coffee at a location of the chain on Bouvier Street, just north of the Vanier neighbourhood. Brashear earned over $15 million in the course of his career, having played 19 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Habs, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Washington Capitals, and the Vancouver Canucks (his longest stint, from 1996 to 2002).

In another NHL connection, the Tim Hortons location is owned by another former Habs player, Pierre Sévigny, who was on that team in the early to mid-90s. Sévigny confirmed to Le Journal de Québec that he had employed 47-year-old Brashear at the coffee chain. While Le Journal suggested that Sévigny employed the former enforcer due to widespread labour shortages in the fast food industry (particularly around Quebec City), no confirmation of that theory has been provided.

However, Morales claims that the restaurant left out some of the items that she paid for. The problems started when Morales went back through the drive-thru to find out about the missing items.

Brashear’s final season in the NHL was back in 2010, and in the yeas since, he has been in the news on a few occasions. Brashear founded a property company named Brash87, although it filed for bankruptcy in 2018, with some $2 million in debt. Last month, Brashear also faced a Quebec City court over a cocaine possession charge.

Long wait times for abortion 'unacceptable,' Quebec Premier Legault says .
Abortion access advocates are speaking out against long wait times for surgery in the Quebec City and Chaudière-Appalaches regions of Quebec, resulting in patients travelling to Montreal for surgery. "We want to make a complaint to the [Health Ministry's] commissioner of complaints, and we may also talk about going to the Protecteur du citoyen," said Karine Angers, director general of abortion rights group SOS Grossesse. In Quebec City, patients will wait two to three weeks before obtaining a first appointment at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université Laval (CHUL) and the Hôpital Saint-François d'Assise.
