Report: Flacco could miss 5-6 weeks with neck injury, but surgery unlikely Based on the initial tests on his injured neck, Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco could be out for five-to-six weeks, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Flacco is unlikely to undergo surgery and his career is not in jeopardy, Rapoport added, but being placed on injured reserve remains a possibility. Broncos head coach Vic Fangio announced Monday that Flacco won't play in Week 9 due to a herniated disc in his neck, but said he would need more information before making a decision on the pivot's roster spot.

Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon will undergo knee surgery and is expected to miss six weeks, a source told Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

An MRI taken earlier Tuesday revealed "significant" debris and the procedure will remove that from the problem area in his knee.

While Gordon has played in nine of the team's first 10 games this season, his knee injury has been an ongoing issue.

"It's been bothering him, actually, from the middle of last year," head coach Mike D'Antoni said, according to The Athletic's Alykhan Bijani. "I think he's probably relieved that he can clean it up, get it going, so he can come as back strong as ever."

New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon is still being hampered by a knee injury and will now undergo surgery , the team announced on Monday night. With six more weeks tacked onto the six weeks he's already missed , it's unlikely Gordon will make much of an impact for the Hornets at all this season.

Hornets Guard Eric Gordon -- the cornerstone of New Orleans' rebuilding project -- will sit out 3-6 more weeks after already missing most of January to rest his injured knee . Eric Gordon Injury: Hornets Guard Needs Knee Surgery , May Miss Six Weeks .

Gordon agreed to a four-year, $75.5-million contract extension this summer that will kick off in 2020-21. He has been one of the club's stronger performers over the past three seasons and is one of six players in the NBA to make 200 triples in each of those campaigns, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

However, the 30-year-old is off to a slow start this season, averaging 10.9 points on 30.9% shooting - including a 28.4% mark from distance.

Gordon's loss is a big blow to a reserve unit that ranks 29th in scoring. Ben McLemore and Austin Rivers will likely see extended minutes during Gordon's absence.

Houston is already without Gerald Green who's expected to miss six months after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot.
