San Francisco Giants outfielder Kevin Pillar apparently produced enough in 2019 to get a single 10th-place vote for the National League Most Valuable Player Award, which was announced Thursday by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Pillar slashed a very pedestrian .259/.287/.432 with 21 home runs and 88 RBIs for the Giants and Toronto Blue Jays. His 1.8 WAR with San Francisco placed him in a tie for 68th among NL players, according to FanGraphs.

The 30-year-old finished tied with Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer in the MVP voting. Stars such as Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies and Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs didn't receive any votes.
