New Orleans Pelicans phenom Zion Williamson rode a career-best 32-point performance into the All-Star break, which made him the first rookie since Michael Jordan to score 20 or more points in eight of his first 10 games. The Pelicans have gradually built up Williamson's minutes and fans are seeing what made the 19-year-old must-watch television at Duke. Williamson's averaging 22.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists through his first 10 games. Here are four takeaways from Zion's first month in the NBA.

Former president Barack Obama made a surprise appearance at an All-Star NBA Cares event Friday morning and had some cool moments with young stars Zion Williamson, Trae Young and Luka Doncic.

The young superstars were greeting fans at the event when Obama showed up. The former president took the time to individually greet each of them and give them words of encouragement.

Here’s video of Obama greeting Young and Williamson.

A bit later, he went over to Doncic and others.

That’s a ton of star power located in one spot, but there aren’t many who can draw a crowd like Obama. It’s not every day that you get to hang with a former president. Clearly, these young players were more than excited about their opportunity.
