NC State safety Khalid Martin was taken off the field in an ambulance during the third quarter of Saturday's game against Virginia Tech.

Martin suffered a right hip injury, reports Michael Niziolek of The Roanoke Times, citing the ACC Network. The defensive back was reportedly conscious when he departed the contest.

Players from both teams knelt around Martin while medical staff attended to him on the field for several minutes:

Martin is a redshirt freshman. He appeared in four games in 2019 (one start) and racked up eight total tackles.
