The New England Patriots will face the Kansas City Chiefs at 7:05 ET on Monday night after their matchup was postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests from both teams.

The rescheduling creates a rare NFL double bill on Monday. The Patriots-Chiefs game, which will be broadcast by CBS, will precede the "Monday Night Football" contest between the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers. ESPN's broadcast of Falcons-Packers has been moved to 8:50 p.m. ET.

On Saturday, the Patriots placed quarterback Cam Newton on the COVID-19 reserve list after he tested positive, a person familiar with the result told USA TODAY Sports' Mike Jones. The person spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation. Chiefs practice-squad quarterback Jordan Ta'amu was also placed on the COVID-19 list after testing positive, per multiple reports.
