Atlanta Falcons fire coach Dan Quinn, GM Thomas Dimitroff after 0-5 start
Dan Quin led the Falcons to Super Bowl LI. Since then, the team has gone 24-29 and the Falcons fired Quinn after Atlanta was winless through Week 5.Quinn finishes with a 43-42 record in nearly five and a half seasons with Atlanta. Since he led the team to Super Bowl LI in the 2016 season, Quinn's teams made the postseason just once and the Falcons went 24-29.
The last time the Bears and Rams met was Nov. 17, 2019, with the game played at the LA Coliseum. That matchup ended up in a 17-7 win for the Rams, ending a two-game skid for the LA team against Chicago.
Now, the teams convene in the LA area once again, this time at the brand new SoFi Stadium for "Monday Night Football." Both teams are vastly improved over last season, when they both missed the playoffs.
Heading into Week 7's meeting, the Bears lead the NFC North with a 5-1 record and have looked dominant at times. Meanwhile, the Rams are 4-2 and can keep pace in the tough NFC West with a victory.
Heading into Monday night's matchup, the Rams have the statistical edge, averaging more points scored and fewer allowed per game. Additionally, the Rams hold the advantage in offence (388.2 yards per game vs. 312.8) and defence (318.5 ypg vs. 337.2).
NFL chief medical officer: Playoff bubble environment not 'safest course of action' for avoiding COVID-19
The NFL isn't looking to enact a bubble environment for the postseason, as chief medical officer Allen Sills has several concerns about the idea. The NFL’s owners on Tuesday took part in a virtual meeting on health, safety and other on-field matters. Commissioner Roger Goodell and chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills reiterated their message of the need for compliance and a commitment to the strategy of the preventative measures of wearing masks, hand-washing and maintaining social distancing along with testing, tracing and isolation.
However, winning is a habit, and Chicago's two-game winning streak prior to Monday's game includes a thrilling 1-point victory over Tom Brady's Buccaneers, which is arguably more impressive than anything the Rams have come up with thus far.
Here's everything you need to know about Monday's broadcast.
