As the DOSB announced at the request of the German Press Agency, the responsible countries should ensure in their regulations that training and competition are guaranteed for the German Olympic, perspective and junior squads 1 and 2.

According to the DOSB, this should also apply to the 1st to 3rd leagues in all Olympic and non-Olympic sports, the fourth league in men's football and national and international sporting events in which professional athletes take part, the statement said.

Despite the nationwide partial lockdown, "the athletes from Team D and the junior squads in winter and summer sports must stay on course," according to the DOSB. "Just like in the professional leagues, which are allowed to continue training and have their competitions held without spectators, an interruption in long-term performance is counterproductive and endangers our athletes' chances for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021 and Beijing 2022."
