Opinion: Ravens caught in unrelenting storm of a season as problems pile up The Ravens haven't been able to duplicate their success of last year, and Sunday's loss to the struggling Patriots highlighted more issues.Getting soaked by Bill Belichick, Cam Newton and the rest of the New England Patriots for a 23-17 setback during a driving rainstorm in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday night seemed like another pretty good indicator that this is not the Ravens' year, either.

The Week 12 NFL schedule is stacked with great matchups. Our NFL Nation reporters bring us the keys to every game, a bold prediction for each matchup and final score picks. Betting nugget: The Giants have covered eight straight road games, including all five under coach Joe Judge this season.

If the Week 12 Power Rankings are anywhere near as good as the Monday night game, we're cooking with grease That was a fun one. Both the Patriots and Panthers played quality football to the bitter end, proving that neither will be a tough out come January. Here are a couple of thoughts on that last

Before you make your NFL bets this weekend, it's worth knowing which side other bettors are backing - especially on games drawing sharp action.

We talked to Jay Rood, Bet.Works' chief risk officer and theScore Bet's head trader, to see how sharps and public bettors are playing this week's slate.

Raiders (-3, 54) @ Falcons, 1 p.m. ET

One of the strongest public plays this week is the Raiders, who are getting plenty of love in a chalk spot after nearly beating the Chiefs a week ago.

'I wish I could do both': As MVP campaign heats up, Cardinals' Kyler Murray says he misses baseball Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray, in the middle of the NFL MVP race, said on a radio show this week he does miss baseball. Not that there was much of a debate when the Arizona Cardinals selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft fresh off winning the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma. Murray's Heisman campaign came after the Oakland Athletics selected him ninth in the 2018 MLB draft months earlier, and he had to tell baseball "thanks, but no thanks" as he pursued football.

This line hasn't moved since opening at 3, though Las Vegas had drawn seven times as many straight-bet tickets as the Falcons and 90 times as many parlay slips entering the weekend. It had also drawn 40 times as much money in the parlay market as Atlanta, which has been a public darling for much of the year.

Maybe this is finally the spot for public bettors to back the Falcons, who are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 as underdogs but 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 as favorites.

Cardinals (-1.5, 49) @ Patriots, 1 p.m.

Another team casual bettors have targeted this year is the Cardinals, who are once again drawing plenty of public support. Only this time, they're facing strong pushback from the sharp community.

Arizona opened as a 2-point favorite, and it's drawn 20 times as much money as New England in parlays and 60 times as many parlay tickets. But a run of rated plays at Patriots +2 has nudged this line down to 1.5 ahead of kickoff behind a 15-to-1 advantage in money wagered on straight bets for the home 'dogs.

Cincinnati Bengals have to hope Joe Burrow recovers like Carson Palmer, not Ki-Jana Carter

Cincinnati Bengals have to hope Joe Burrow recovers like Carson Palmer, not Ki-Jana Carter Joe Burrow is the third No. 1 overall pick by the Bengals to suffer a major knee injury. Whether it has a long-term effect is impossible to say. It will likely cost Burrow the rest of his rookie season. "We don't have any final update," Bengals coach Zac Taylor said after the game. Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning. Unlike quarterback Carson Palmer's injury in 2005, Burrow's injury did not derail a playoff drive. And unlike running back Ki-Jana Carter's injury in 1995, Burrow's injury will not likely derail a career. The Bengals have to hope Burrow has the Palmer outcome.

"This is a little bit of a pros-versus-Joes," Rood said. "Definitely strong straight play on the Patriots and strong parlay play on the Cardinals."

Saints (-6.5, 42.5) @ Broncos, 4:05 p.m.

A week ago, public and sharp bettors alike were lined up against the Saints in Taysom Hill's first career start. This week, they're throwing their money behind the 30-year-old quarterback in his second start against the Broncos.

New Orleans is taking 30 times as much money as Denver in straight bets despite just a 3-to-1 advantage in tickets wagered, pushing the line up from an opening number of 5.5. It's a similar story in the parlay market, where bettors are placing seven times as many bets but 15 times as much money on the Saints.

Rood says there isn't much sharp play to speak of in this game, though those early to the window are placing larger-than-usual bets on the road favorites who have covered three straight after a 2-5 ATS start.

Browns (-7, 49) @ Jaguars, 1 p.m.

The final team drawing noteworthy action this week is the Browns, who have covered just one of their last five games but are public favorites in this one.

Cleveland opened as a 6.5-point favorite over the Jaguars, who are switching from struggling rookie quarterback Jake Luton to veteran passer Mike Glennon this week. Public bettors apparently aren't impressed; they're laying 25 times as much money on the favorites in straight bets and 16 times as much on parlays.

"Nothing sharp, but the Browns are getting some support here," Rood said.

Thanksgiving week provided several teams with much to be thankful for, but other teams are short on reasons for optimism after Sunday.1. It's time to start talking about the Titans' Derrick Henry as a serious MVP candidate ... even if a running back has only captured the award once – Adrian Peterson in 2012 – since the start of the 2007 season. Henry churned out 178 yards and three TDs on the ground Sunday (all but 38 yards before halftime) as Tennessee routed the Colts 45-26 to reclaim first place in the AFC South.
