The Cleveland Browns snapped their 17-game losing streak with a 21-21 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Then the wheat was separated from the chaff, so to speak. The Packers immediately followed up with the next touchdown by tight end Marcedes Lewis, whereupon Mitchell Trubisky, who started for the last weak Nick Foles after recovering from injury, made the first big mistake. He wanted too much and clearly threw his target Darnell Mooney over in a deep ball - Packers-Safety Darnell Savage was there for an interception in his own end zone.

The Packers responded with another touchdown - Rodgers found Allen Lazard for a 2-yard TD pass. And just four moves later, the home side cheered again: Za'Darius Smith managed a sack against Trubisky and Fumble, Preston Smith picked up the ball and carried it over 14 yards into the end zone for another Packers score.

And then Rodgers returned to the game and led the Packers to 17 unanswered points, and ended up with the ball with just over two minutes left, down by six … and if there was a Bears fan alive who felt comfortable at that moment, they were lying to themselves.

Until the break, Trubisky still had a good drive in it and found Allen Robinson from the 1-yard line 19 seconds before the break.

Bears without momentum after the break

Instead of coming out of the cabin with momentum, the Bears had to punt directly. On the second drive, Trubisky threw another interception, this time with no overview - and need - in a triple coverage. Savage was there again and Green Bay took over on their own 47. Just four plays later, Rodgers finally found tight end Robert Tonyan for a 39-yard touchdown pass - 34:10 in the middle of the third quarter.

But that's not all, because in their subsequent drive the Bears essentially stopped fighting and Jamaal Williams ran through the middle for a 13-yard touchdown. As a result, Trubisky and Co. only made a little cosmetic result.

Adams scored at least one touchdown catch in the sixth game in a row. This is the third longest such series in the history of the Packers. Only Don Hutson had two longer series. From 1941 to 1942 and from 1943 to 1944 the legendary split end got seven games in a row with at least one touchdown catch.

Rodgers was especially dangerous after play action. The touchdown on Tonyan was Rodgers' third in the game after play action and 14th this season - five more than the next best QB on this list. Apart from that, Rodgers broke the 50,000-yard mark as the eleventh QB overall in the NFL. He did it in just 192 games - the fourth fewest to 50,000 yards in NFL history.

The star of the game: Aaron Rodgers (Packers)

Rodgers had an easy game against the Bears. He threw for 4 touchdowns and was allowed to rely on both his offensive line and his running game. Rodgers will probably not have it as easy as in this game, in which he was almost perfect at passes after play action.

The flop of the game: Front Seven of the Bears

Sure, Trubisky made a lot of mistakes too and was definitely not the answer to the Bears' ongoing QB question. But that was to be expected in a sense. But what was more worrying from Bears' point of view is the performance of the defensive front. This had no access in the absence of Akiem Hicks. So the Packers always had open lanes to run. Additionally, no one put a hand on Rodgers - with the exception of a rather questionable roughing-the-passer penalty before the break. This is too little.

analysis: Packers vs. Bears - the tactics board

The Bears always tried to create matchup advantages with the wide receivers Allen Robinson and Cordarrelle Patterson. Patterson often appeared in the backfield, while Robinson played both in the slot and outside. While the Packers had Patterson largely under control and defended his runs well, it was more difficult with Robinson. From the slot in particular, Green Bay usually did not have an adequate answer.

This became particularly clear with Robinson's touchdown before the break. Robinson played once more in the slot and apparently had Safety Adrian Amos as a direct opponent. But he either played zone or had his eyes on the tight end, because he wasn't playing directly against Robinson - in fact, nobody played against Robinson on his short in-route. Therefore Robinson was completely open and Trubisky found him under heavy pressure from the approaching Edge Rusher Smith.

The Bears' QB change from Nick Foles back to Trubisky also brought more dynamism back into play - as well as the use of read options. However, the Packers were noticeably well prepared for this. Za'Darius Smith in particular usually showed a good eye for the situation and did not fall for a fake hand-off from Trubisky to the running back, then often had a free run to the QB.

The Packers also relied on placing top receiver Davante Adams both inside and outside. What was particularly remarkable, however, was how early in the game the running game was supported by wide receiver Lazard. He not only acted as a decoy in his function as a motion man before the snap in several running plays, he also took part directly in the play as a committed blocker - and not only on his side, but at least once even on a jet Motion on the other side of the field to clear the path for the running back. Tactically interesting, but above all a sign of the high level of use of a wide receiver that usually has little to do with run blocking.
