  Harlan Coben Discusses His Unique Netflix Deal That Sees His Books Adapted For Series In Spain, France, Poland & More With 75 million copies of his novels in circulation around the globe, American author Harlan Coben has conquered the world of print with his popular brand of crime thrillers, including the Myron Bolitar series. He is now making great strides into the new frontier of streaming via a one-of-a-kind deal with Netflix. First struck in 2018, the pact is a multi-million-dollar, five-year deal under the terms of which 14 of Coben’s books will be adapted into series or films for the online platform, with him overseeing the projects in various capacities.

Netflix is in production on a new documentary series with NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace as he competes in his first season for the new 23XI Racing team owned by Michael Jordan and fellow driver Denny Hamlin. The sides are not announcing the name of the series or when it will be released, but they are saying that it will take viewers behind the scenes of this season and explore Wallace ’ s efforts to advocate for diversity, equality and inclusion in NASCAR and America. Wallace has one of the quickest growing fanbases in the sport after taking a lead role in last year’s social justice movement.

Bubba Wallace is coming to Netflix.

The streaming platform announced Thursday that it’s working on a documentary series about Wallace and his first season with 23XI Racing, the brand-new NASCAR Cup Series team co-owned by Michael Jordan and fellow driver Denny Hamlin.

Netflix didn’t offer too many details about the new series, and the title and when it’s expected to be released weren’t included.

However, it did note: “The series will take viewers behind the scenes of the 2021 NASCAR season through the eyes of the only Black driver at the top level of the sport, and will explore Wallace, 23XI Racing, and NASCAR’s efforts to advocate for inclusion and equality in racing and beyond.”

Netflix has had some success with racing content over the years, particularly with its popular docuseries Formula 1: Drive to Survive, which just debuted its third season last month prior to the start of the F1 season. While the project on Wallace will obviously have a different subject and angle, fans can only hope the new, behind-the-scenes series will be as captivating and well-crafted as Drive to Survive.
