Golden Knights reassign former first-rounder Cody Glass to AHL

Golden Knights reassign former first-rounder Cody Glass to AHL Vegas announced on Thursday evening that Glass has been demoted to the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights in order to take part in their Pacific Division Final matchup. While this is a pivotal game for Henderson, down 1-0 in a best-of-three series, the Knights would not be prioritizing their farm team’s success over their own. The move indicates that Glass will not be in the lineup for Vegas on Friday, as the team would not put him on short rest if they had another choice.

The Montreal Canadiens will face the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup semifinals, with Game 1 set to go on Monday.

Vegas finished with the best regular-season record among the final four, while Montreal was fourth. The Habs were 23 points behind the Golden Knights, who tied Colorado for the highest point total in the league.

The Canadians earned the fourth and final playoff spot in the all-Canadian North Division before upsetting the first-place Toronto Maple Leafs and third-place Winnipeg Jets to book a spot in the semifinals.
