NFL practice squad salaries: Minimum salary, rules & more to know for 2021

NFL practice squad salaries: Minimum salary, rules & more to know for 2021 NFL teams will soon be filling out their original 16-man practice squads for 2021. Here's everything to know about the rules surrounding that process. As disappointing as it is to be cut, it's often not the end of the line. Each NFL team carries with it a practice squad of players that aren't on the active roster but still train, prepare and, yes, practice with the 53-man roster. These units provide key depth for teams and allow young players to hone their crafts working with NFL teams.

Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season contains plenty of intriguing matchups, but CBS and Fox are clearly favoring some over others.

Notably, Fox is focusing heavily on the Aaron Rodgers vs. Jameis Winston matchup in Packers vs. Saints. Most of the country will see that over the less-anticipated Daniel Jones vs. Teddy Bridgewater game that is Broncos vs. Giants. Fox's early slate is far more evenly distributed with the Eagles vs. Falcons game being the slight favorite in that window.

Meanwhile, CBS' coverage will be focused on a quartet of teams that made the AFC playoffs last season. They're featuring the Bills vs. Steelers in the early window and have their top crew — Jim Nantz and Tony Romo — set to call the 4:25 p.m. ET Chiefs vs. Browns game. The latter will get more attention than the battle of Alabama quarterbacks, as Mac Jones' Patriots take on Tua Tagovailoa's Dolphins.

32 things we learned from Week 2 of the 2021 NFL season .
The NFL season is only two weeks old, but several players – including Kyler Murray, Tom Brady and Derek Carr – are building cases for MVP honors.1. Tough day for quarterbacks throughout the league, the Chicago Bears' Andy Dalton (knee), Houston Texans' Tyrod Taylor (hamstring), Miami Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) and Indianapolis Colts' Carson Wentz (ankle) all going down. The Las Vegas Raiders' Derek Carr and Cleveland Browns' Baker Mayfield also endured (kneeling) eight counts, but persevered and continued in victorious efforts.
