NBA Power Rankings 2021: What each team is most thankful for heading into holiday season
Heading into Thanksgiving, we take a closer look at what each team in the league is thankful for more than a month into the 2021-22 season. This week, we're going with a more positive spin.
The Warriors and Suns meet again.
On Tuesday, Golden State and Phoenix played each other for the first time this season. Behind double-doubles from both Chris Paul (15 points, 11 assists) and Deandre Ayton (24 points, 11 rebounds), the Suns won by a final score of 104-96.
The win marked Phoenix's 17th straight victory, tying a franchise record.
In finishing with 12 points on 4-for-21 shooting from the field (3-for-14 from 3-point range), Stephen Curry had one of the worst shooting performances of his career. It took a team effort to slow the MVP front-runner down, with Mikal Bridges leading the charge.
The Suns lost two-time All-Star Devin Booker to a hamstring injury in the first half of their win over the Warriors. It's been reported that he will "miss a few games," but his injury is said to be considered minor.
Ben Simmons on the Warriors? Why Golden State should and shouldn't pursue trade for 76ers star
How would Ben Simmons fit on the Warriors? Would a win-now move make them clear championship favorites? With an NBA-best 15-2 record heading into Wednesday's clash with the 76ers, Golden State looks every bit like the dominant franchise that reached five straight Finals from 2015 to 2019. The hot start has quieted most of the chatter about the Warriors potentially making a major win-now move. One of the names that surfaces from time to time? Ben Simmons.
The Suns and Warriors have the two best records in the league. Entering Thursday's slate of games, the Warriors ranked third in offensive efficiency and first in defensive efficiency. The Suns ranked sixth and second, respectively.
The two teams will play again on Christmas Day in what could be Klay Thompson's.
Originally, Lakers-Clippers was going to be broadcasted on ESPN on Friday, but that game has been replaced by Warriors-Suns.

Suns proving last season's NBA Finals run was no fluke with 16-game win streak
By surviving a late surge from the Nets, on the second night of a back-to-back, the Suns extended their win streak to 16 - the second-longest in franchise history. That said, despite all they have achieved, there's still room for skepticism but the Suns have a chance to shut that talk down with their next matchup - against the league-leading Golden State Warriors. While the players, led by their backcourt duo of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, along with head coach Monty Williams were lauded for their achievement, there were plenty playing it down saying they caught 'lightning in a bottle' or the fact that the Suns, in each round of the Western Conference playoffs, faced teams that were majorly handicapped with injuries
