Many big-name blockbusters filmed all over the city — in some very recognizable spaces. Nightmare Alley, out in theatres now, is one of them. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, it tells the story of carnival man Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) who fools the rich alongside a psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) and her husband. Other big names in the movie include Rooney Mara and Toni Collette.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed the American quarterback through the 2023 season Wednesday. While Evans' return to Hamilton isn't surprising — he has always expressed his happiness playing with the franchise — the timing is as Evans said following the season he expected to test CFL free agency before deciding where he'd play in 2022.

Evans was slated to become a CFL free agent Feb. 8.

"We're excited that Dane and his family have chosen to stay in Hamilton for the next two seasons," Orlondo Steinauer, Hamilton's head coach and president of football operations, said in a statement. "Dane is not just an outstanding quarterback, but an outstanding human being.

QB Bethel-Thompson says sorry for run-in with cameraman after Argos eliminated

QB Bethel-Thompson says sorry for run-in with cameraman after Argos eliminated Toronto Argonauts quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson apologized for a heated post-game interaction with a TSN cameraman a day after his CFL team was defeated in the East Division final by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The 33-year-old Bethel-Thompson was not made available post-game after his team's 27-19 loss at BMO Field on Sunday. But he was part of the Argonauts season-ending media availability on Monday, along with general manager Michael Clemons and head coach Ryan Dinwiddie. Bethel-Thompson clashed with the cameraman as he walked off the field on Sunday, bumping with the TSN employee a few times.

"His work ethic and authentic leadership skills make him someone that teammates naturally appreciate."

Evans, 28, has started 18 games for Hamilton over the past four seasons, including one playoff game and two Grey Cup contests (2019, 2021).

He has completed 393-of-562 passes (70 per cent) for 4,924 yards with 29 TDs and 18 interceptions. Evans has also rushed 66 times for 309 yards and six touchdowns.

The native of Sanger, Tex., led Hamilton to a second straight Grey Cup appearance last season, completing four-of-nine passes for 21 yards before being forced to leave the game due to injury.

Veteran Jeremiah Masoli replaced Evans and finished the contest as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated Hamilton 33-25 in overtime at Tim Hortons Field.

Hamilton's re-signing of Evans likely means the club will move on from Masoli, 33, who's also slated to become a CFL free agent next month.
