Raptors' six-game winning streak ends with 99-95 loss to Phoenix Suns

Raptors' six-game winning streak ends with 99-95 loss to Phoenix Suns TORONTO — It took a good game by one of the league's best teams, playing at full strength, to end Toronto's six-game winning streak. And that had the Raptors looking at the positives on Tuesday. OG Anunoby had 25 points, and Pascal Siakam added 22, but the Raptors dropped a 99-95 decision to the league-leading Phoenix Suns, in a game that went down the final seconds. "You just got to appreciate the fight, be proud of the fight," said FredAnd that had the Raptors looking at the positives on Tuesday.

Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse has always been a natural storyteller, so it’s only fitting he’s taking his talents to the small screen.

Raptors coach Nick Nurse is making another television appearance in Canada. Raptors coach Nick Nurse is making another television appearance in Canada.

Nurse will be featured in Monday’s episode of CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries, which is currently in its 15th season, and he couldn’t be more excited about his upcoming appearance.

"Pretty fun, pretty cool show," Nurse said ahead of the Raptors' Wednesday game against the Chicago Bulls.

Without spoiling the episode for you, Nurse told reporters on Wednesday that he will play a locker-room attendant and is open to criticism about his acting.

This isn’t Nurse’s acting debut and it’s clear that he has an affinity for Canadian network television. Nurse previously appeared in Global’s Private Eyes during a December 2020 episode, and it seemed like he had a blast.

“It's not as easy as you'd think! You know, you've still got some lines that they want you to say and you gotta deliver them. You've got to do it several times over and over,” Nurse told Complex’s Alex Nino Gheciu in November 2020.

Pascal Siakam has triple-double, Raptors beat Bucks 103-96

Pascal Siakam has triple-double, Raptors beat Bucks 103-96 MILWAUKEE (AP) — Pascal Siakam had 30 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds for his second career triple-double and the Toronto Raptors overcame an early 15-point deficit to beat the cold-shooting Milwaukee Bucks 103-96 on Saturday night. “I just try to come out every night with just the same intensity and same energy,” Siakam said. “Tonight I think we all played well. We were flowing and moving the ball and just playing our brand of basketball.” OG Anunoby added 24 points to help the Raptors improve to 3-0 this season against the defending champion Bucks, who shot a season low 33.8%. Toronto has won five straight in the series.

Nurse has cultivated a reputation as an affable storyteller and is one of the most media-friendly head coaches in the NBA. In addition to his television forays, Nurse has also been known to dabble in music. Back in 2019, after the Raptors' championship title, Nurse joined the Canadian band Arkells on stage for a cover of Stevie Wonder's 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered.'

Admittedly, on short notice, I did not watch Nurse’s appearance in Private Eyes (Coach, if you're reading this, I'm sorry). But there’s something to be said about his earnest enthusiasm for acting — and how he's embraced so many aspects of Canadian pop culture.

Perhaps he’ll join the long list of basketball personalities who have found a second life in acting.
