Josh McDaniels ' agent reportedly terminates relationship with him after Colts fiasco. One of the awkward parts of Josh McDaniels backing out of the Indianapolis Colts head-coaching job is that McDaniels and Colts GM Chris Ballard shared the same agent.

Josh McDaniels is one of the hottest head coaching candidates, and he apparently is being viewed as a strong candidate for the Indianapolis Colts’ job.

CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported Wednesday that McDaniels was expected to interview with the Colts.

McDaniels, who is in his second stint as offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, has previous head coaching experience with the Denver Broncos. He is also a candidate for the Giants and Bears jobs.

Josh McDaniels ' tenure as Indianapolis Colts head coach is over after less than nine hours. McDaniels had a change of heart Tuesday and will remain with the New England Patriots Florio reported Tuesday night that the Colts have three candidate interviews set up within the next two days.

Josh McDaniels has backed out of a deal to become the Indianapolis’ Colts new coach, a decision that shocked the franchise hours after it announced his hiring.

In addition to McDaniels, the Colts reportedly plan to interview Kris Richard, Matt Nagy, Steve Wilks and Mike Vrabel.

The Colts’ job is a desirable one because of the possibility of working with Andrew Luck. Though Luck is coming off a missed season due to shoulder surgery and a setback in his recovery, coaches would be banking on the possibility of him being ready for next season.
