The 53-year-old Bonds becomes the 12th player in New York and San Francisco Giants franchise history to receive the honor. He joins fellow San Francisco Giants Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Gaylord Perry as players who've have his uniform number retired.
