This should come as deja vu for Toronto Blue Jays fans.

Third baseman Josh Donaldson, who hasn't appeared in a spring training game since Saturday, is dealing with a calf issue. The team doesn't see it as serious, though nothing is concrete.

"Not sure," manager John Gibbons told Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith when asked about Donaldson's return to the lineup. "Next few days, I would think. We'll see."

Barring a minor-league appearance, Donaldson isn't expected to return until at least Friday's Grapefruit League contest against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jays regain their optimism as they regain their health .
If there is one thing that just about all sports fans have in common, it’s hope. Hope that this year will be the year that their team does the unthinkable and wins it all. Blue Jays fans are no different, even if Toronto is coming off a 76-86 season and dealing again with the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees — two teams that have only improved since going 1-2 in the American League East last year. The Jays are confident they can play ball with the division’s bigwigs.
