As in the past few weeks, everything exciting has been told by naming the number, again only bug fixes are included. The Insider program is waiting for the starting signal for the new Windows 10 development cycle, which I actually expected to build. Apparently you wait until the May update is "on the road".

Of all things Microsoft's own software turns out to be a show stopper with the Windows 10 May update. The OneDrive Sync Client ensures that numerous users cannot start the update or cannot successfully complete it.

The first feedback came about a week ago. Your PC settings are not supported in the comments on article : Update to the Windows 10 May update fails several community members reported and reported that they were able to successfully install the May update after uninstalling OneDrive. After completing the update, they downloaded the OneDrive Client again from Microsoft and everything was scratched.

No Windows 10 May update for two Surface devices - and problems out of nowhere

No Windows 10 May update for two Surface devices - and problems out of nowhere © provided by Dr. Windows Windows 10 May Update Last Wednesday, Microsoft released the Windows 10 May 2020 update. It was an overall quiet release, basically business as usual, as they like to say. And yet we have to talk. They would not be accompanied by Microsoft's old chronic illness: problems that were possibly unavoidable and that would not be bad at all: the inability to communicate properly.

For the clients running windows 10 it should already be installed and update whenever a new update is pushed through Windows update . Unfortunately, users are still able to put off updates to Office, which, in this new age of Software as a Service, actually causes the applications to break.

We recommend that you update to the latest version of Windows 10 before you try to uninstall any drivers because this may resolve the issue. To prevent the driver from being reinstalled by Windows Update , use the “ Show or Hide Updates ” troubleshooter to hide the driver.

In the last few days the reports about the success of this workaround have increased from other sides, nothing is known about negative side effects. My guess is that there is a connection to another problem. The OneDrive placeholders can make a mess in connection with the May update, so I suspect: Microsoft is blocking the update on the systems on which the OneDrive placeholders are active. I do not have a suitable test position, if you observe the problem with yourself, you can test whether it is enough to switch off the placeholders.

This problem is presumably also the reason why many Surface devices still cannot switch to the May update. We cannot know because Microsoft's documentation and communication is so cruelly bad.

Of course you can make the argument that the vast majority of users don't notice anything about these stories. They use their system and at some point the May Update hits their head - whether today, tomorrow or in three months, the vast majority are not interested in the slightest. But if Microsoft already has documentation on known problems, then you should maintain it as detailed as possible.
