TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Police in Tallahassee are investigating a stabbing at Dyke Industries in an industrial park Wednesday. Initial reports say multiple victims have been hospitalized, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

At 8:37 a.m. Wednesday, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a stabbing near the 2000 block of Maryland Circle. Upon officers' arrival, they discovered multiple stabbing victims and provided immediate medical attention. The suspect is in custody.

An initial report that the incident occurred at the neighboring Coca-Cola plant was incorrect. But other media reports say workers chased the suspect to the plant parking lot, where the suspect was arrested.

Tallahassee police are investigating an incident involving "multiple stabbing victims." The stabbing occurred just after 8:30 a.m. at Dyke Industries, according to the Tallahassee Police Department. Six people were taken to a hospital.

Family members gathered behind the police line Wednesday morning and shared stories of the terror that unfolded inside the business.

Marquitta Campbell's husband Bobby Riggins Jr. arrived for a job interview at Dyke Industries Inc. at about 8:30 a.m. She said she was on the phone with him and heard a commotion. He then told her he’d been stabbed.

“The next thing I know, he said ‘Baby. I’ve been stabbed five times,’ ” Campbell said as she waited for answers. “ ‘I’ve been stabbed.’ ”

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare spokeswoman Danielle Buchanan said the hospital is treating six people from the incident.

"They are currently being evaluated by our medical team. We will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.”

Tallahassee Police Department spokesman Damon Miller confirmed the stabbing incident at the plant on Maryland Circle, but did not provide any details.

Ellen Mospens’ husband Dennis McMaster also works at the plant.

She said he was not injured but texted her that there had been a “massive stabbing. Come get me,” early Wednesday morning.
