SAO PAULO / BRASILIA (Reuters) - Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro underwent successful surgery on Friday for the removal of a bladder stone, according to a statement released by his press office and signed by a team of three doctors.

Jair Bolsonaro's health has been a recurring concern since he was stabbed during the 2018 election campaign. He subsequently underwent several surgeries.

At the end of August, Jair Bolsonaro said he was going to undergo surgery to remove a kidney stone, before later indicating that it was in fact a bladder stone.

The Brazilian president should leave the hospital on Saturday or Sunday at the latest, according to his medical team.
