Emergency crews are responding to a multi-vehicle crash north of Barrie involving a bus coach, officials say.

OPP Const. Peter Leon told CP24 by phone that the vehicle and an SUV collided in the area of Hwy. 26 and Nottawasaga Sideroad in Stayner, northwest of Toronto.

Ornge air ambulance stated that two helicopters are on route to the scene, and that a pediatric team, and a critical care team from Toronto have been dispatched.

Clearview Fire, which services the area, stated on Twitter that there were minor injuries to children and teens on the bus coach.

Five occupants of the SUV sustained serious injuries.

Clearview Township is using buses to shuttle more than 40 people from the bus coach to Stayner Arena Hall while they wait for another bus. The vehicle was transporting 41 teens and three chaperones, and the bus driver.

4-year-old girl dead, two seriously injured in collision near Grassland .
A four-year-old girl is dead, and two adults were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision near Grassland, Alta. Saturday evening. RCMP say the collision happened at around 5 p.m. on Highway 55, around one kilometre west of Grassland. A westbound pickup truck lost control and went into the oncoming lane, striking an SUV travelling east. The male driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance, before being taken to an Edmonton hospital by air ambulance.
