Police Arrest 22-Year-Old in Fatal Shooting of Good Samaritan

In a shocking turn of events, law enforcement has arrested Anthony Michael Felix, 22, in relation to the homicide of Juan Coc Xo, a 54-year-old Good Samaritan who was killed in Golden Gate back in August. Felix was apprehended on Sunday, thanks to the diligent efforts of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

The tragic incident happened on the early morning of August 17, around 2 a.m., while Xo was walking home with a friend along 41st Terrace SW when a vehicle approached them. A suspect in the car tried to rob the pair, but Xo bravely refused to give up his belongings, which led to him being shot.

Sadly, Xo did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Felix, described as homeless, was identified as the main suspect after a thorough investigation. Authorities conducted a traffic stop on Sunday morning at the intersection of Vanderbilt Road and U.S. 41, where they found Felix as a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken into custody without any trouble and subsequently transferred to the Naples Jail Center.

Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk expressed his pride in the investigative team: “I’m proud of our detectives for their determination. They sifted through the evidence to pinpoint the suspect, keeping up the pursuit of Felix as he attempted to avoid capture by law enforcement.”
