In a shocking turn of events, four individuals have been taken into custody following a spate of home invasions in Los Angeles, one of which involved actor Brad Pitt’s residence.

The LAPD has confirmed to Oxygen.com that these arrests relate to the burglary that occurred on June 25 at Pitt’s home, located on N. Edgemont Drive. Reports from outlets such as People and Los Angeles Times have identified Pitt’s property as one of the targets, while the actor was away in Europe promoting his newest film, F1: The Movie.

Arrested initially on August 11 were 18-year-olds Damari Zair Charles and January Arman Watson, both facing serious first-degree burglary charges. Interestingly, they are suspected of attempting to break into another home in Orange County just days prior, on August 7.

The identities of two additional suspects who have also been arrested remain undisclosed for now.

Details of the Burglary

According to a police source cited by the Los Angeles Times, the break-in occurred at approximately 10:30 PM on the night of June 25. It’s reported that the burglars managed to scale a fence surrounding Pitt’s property, smashed a window, and broke into the house.

Inside, chaos reigned as they rifled through Pitt’s belongings, leaving a significant mess in their wake. Descriptions indicated that items were overturned and scattered throughout the residence as they searched for valuables.

Ultimately, they absconded with several unspecified items, as the police revealed in their statements, though officials have demanded little information regarding what exactly was stolen.

Brad Pitt Away During the Incident

It’s notable that during this harrowing experience, Brad Pitt was attending the European premiere of his film in London.

This incident marks just one event in a troubling trend of high-profile burglaries, also involving other celebrities such as Nicole Kidman and Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. It appears that these thieves have been specifically targeting affluent neighborhoods, similar to Beverly Hills, by utilizing advanced methods to monitor homes and ascertain when their occupants are away. LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell emphasized this fact in a report noted by NBC LA.

He explained that these burglars might deploy surveillance cameras either directly on the property or from a vehicle nearby to watch for patterns indicating when residents aren’t home.

Currently, Charles and Watson are being held at Theo Lacy jail complex in Orange, California, without bail, as investigations remain active.
