The Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Midland Crime Stoppers are turning to the community for assistance in cracking a serious burglary case that also involved some criminal mischief.
On the evening of October 8, deputies of the MCSO were dispatched to a reported theft in the vicinity of East County Road 140, specifically in the 1600 block.
According to Midland Crime Stoppers, an unidentified suspect managed to break into a business yard and stole equipment including tools, a Bobcat welder, welding rods, and several welding helmets, totaling around $5,000 in losses.
What’s more alarming is that this same suspect allegedly took tools from a work truck parked within the shop, and then drove the company’s forklift right through the fence, causing extensive damage worth thousands of dollars. The perpetrator even left a shoe print at the scene!
