Estimated read time 2 min read

Authorities are clear: this shooting was not a random act. They’ve identified substantial Russian connections in this murder, with law enforcement vowing to hold everyone involved accountable.

The suspect reportedly took a lot of time devising his plan before he opened fire on Andriy Parubiy, which resulted in a 36-hour manhunt for his capture.

On August 30, within the Frankivskyi District of Lviv, the perpetrator posed as a delivery courier, subsequently targeting Parubiy.

Deputy Vyhivskyi described the scene, stating, “Eight shots fired with cold-blooded precision. He ensured his target was deceased, then attempted to erase his tracks—changing clothes, disposing of the firearm, and trying to evade capture in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.”

According to sources from Channel 5, Russian intelligence may have coerced the suspect for an entire year, reportedly by threatening to expose information related to the tragic death of his son in the conflict.

Nights later, on September 1, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy affirmed that the alleged assassin was in custody. He mentioned that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko had filled him in on the suspect’s initial testimonies and planned legal moves. He insisted that investigative efforts are ongoing, aiming to uncover all details of this heinous crime.
