A 38-year-old man is in hot water after police found a suspect device on a quiet residential street, leading to an attempted murder charge against him.
On Saturday at around 12:15 PM BST, Hertfordshire Police were called out to Cowley Hill in Borehamwood, where controlled detonations were necessary due to the suspicious item.
As a result of the situation, authorities evacuated local homes and blocked off several roads to manage the potentially dangerous object with the bomb disposal team’s assistance.
The individual, identified as Robert Kovacs from Tenby Road in Edgware, faces charges for making an explosive substance designed to endanger life, with his court appearance scheduled for Monday at St Albans Magistrates’ Court.
Authorities have also detained a 38-year-old woman from Borehamwood related to this case, but she has since been released on bail.
