WILMINGTON, DE — Recent news from Wilmington Police reveals the arrest of four men on a variety of gun and drug charges, stemming from an investigation that kicked off earlier this month.
Officials from the Gun Intelligence Unit began looking into reported illegal firearm dealings involving a 16-year-old juvenile and 18-year-old K’Den Bowens earlier in August.
On the morning of August 20, 2025, around 10:25 AM, officers spotted the 16-year-old in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the 800 block of West 7th Street. When officers approached, the driver, identified as 23-year-old Nhy-jee Evans, struck two police cars and sped away. Fortunately, no officers were hurt during the incident.
Shortly afterwards, the vehicle was located in the 2000 block of Concord Pike, where police arrested the juvenile along with Evans and 23-year-old Sabeer Mumin without further complications. Additionally, officers executed search warrants at homes located in the 200 block of North Franklin Street and the 1200 block of Conrad Street, resulting in the arrest of Bowens.
During the searches, authorities seized a variety of dangerous items including a loaded 9mm handgun, 55.9 grams of crack cocaine, 4.95 grams of heroin, 399.1 grams of marijuana, and a total of $3,978 in cash.

- 16-year-old juvenile: Charged with two counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition while being prohibited; released on $10,000 secured bail after Family Court hearing.
- K’Den Bowens, 18: Facing one count of unlawful firearm possession; held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution under $20,000 cash-only bail.
- Nhy-jee Evans, 23: Multiple charges including possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy; detained on $73,100 cash-only bail.
- Sabeer Mumin, 23: Facing various charges related to possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute and conspiracy; committed on $57,000 cash-only bail.
All accused individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty according to the law, reminding us that charges are merely allegations at this stage.
