In an odd turn of events, a woman in her 30s from China was arrested for trying to break into BTS’s Jungkook’s home just as he was discharged from military service. Fortunately for her, she won’t be facing a trial thanks to a suspension of indictment.
The Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office revealed this decision on October 22. The incident in question took place on June 11, the night of Jungkook’s military discharge, when the woman was reportedly trying numerous attempts to guess the passcode for the entrance of his apartment.
Despite prosecutors recognizing that a crime occurred, they opted not to move forward with charges. They reasoned that it was merely an ‘attempt’ and noted that the woman had already returned to her home country.
This case is just one of a couple of unusual incidents surrounding the star recently. Another case involves a Korean woman who was arrested in August for unauthorized entry into his parking area, which was officially sent to prosecution on October 14.
The timing of these occurrences has slightly darkened what should be a joyful moment as Jungkook and his bandmate Jimin both completed their mandatory military service on October 11, following the earlier discharges of Jin, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and V.
