A teenager known as Kyle Allen, labeled the “most wanted burglar” in South Yorkshire, has been sentenced to three years and eight months in prison after a thrilling police chase where he reached speeds of 90 mph.
The chase began during the early hours of January 28 when officers noticed Allen driving a Suzuki Cross erratically in Hariby. When the police signaled him to stop, he sped off, leading to a dangerous pursuit that ended when law enforcement managed to push his vehicle off the road.
Sentencing occurred on August 18 at the Sheffield Crown Court, with Allen facing 12 separate charges. His offense list includes two counts of burglary, attempted burglary, and dangerous driving.
Detective Sergeant Dave Baker condemned Allen’s reckless actions during the chase, highlighting the potential danger he posed not only to himself but also to the public. “Burglary is a terrible crime,” he stated. “Thieves invade personal spaces and leave behind emotional scars that can last for years. People feel violated knowing someone broke into their home.”
Further details of the case revealed that Allen has been disqualified from driving for an extended period of three years and ten months. Adding to his record, aside from his burglaries, he also faced eight counts related to handling stolen goods.
