Three car thieves caught attempting to steal luxury vehicles at Detroit factories

Recently, car thefts from factory lots have become a serious problem in Detroit, with thieves sneaking in to swipe brand-new models. Now, three guys who had their sights set on Cadillacs and Mustangs are facing justice after being caught red-handed.

Ever wondered why Burt Reynolds wasn’t buried for over two years?

Law enforcement has tracked these three to several thefts that date back to 2024, all occurring within the greater Detroit area. These thieves were bold enough to cut through security fences in the dead of night and using advanced gadgets to bypass the security systems in luxury cars.

The vehicles on their radar weren’t just any ordinary rides; they were top-tier models including Hummer EVs, Cadillac Escalade IQs, and Shelby GT00s. They likely knew they could flip these high-end cars for a hefty profit in the underworld market.

As reported by the Detroit Free Press, the suspects are Leondre Jones, 21; Lemel Watley-Neely, 25; and Jayvon Williams, 33. They’ve been charged with running a criminal operation, but we can’t help but wonder if more serious charges like grand theft auto are on the way.

It feels good to see some of these auto bandits finally facing consequences. For too long, a lack of firm action regarding car theft was rampant, often overshadowed by political correctness over genuine justice.

In fact, it’s encouraging because car theft rates are reportedly on the decline.

However, let’s not kid ourselves; these three are definitely not the only crooks out there. The issue has spiraled out of control since 2019, along with the overall rise in vehicle thefts. It’s hard to believe they acquired such sophisticated tools on their own.

There are bigger names behind the scenes financing these heists, and law enforcement should track these masterminds down and bring them to justice as well.
