Warning from a Tesla Owner About a Disturbing Trend in Neighborhoods: ‘This is Horrible’

A TikTok user has a serious message for those who think it’s okay to vandalize Teslas to protest against the brand and its CEO, Elon Musk.

“That’s not the way to make a point,” she expressed. “You’re affecting me rather than them.”

This comes from a video posted by the TikTok account Cirque Cadia Cosmetics (@sugarcookieclown), where the owner recounted the shocking moment she woke up to find a rock smashed into her used Tesla’s windshield.

Electric vehicles and their charging stations have increasingly been victims of vandalism, which can seriously hinder the growth of EV adoption. Sadly, these acts often come from people who don’t support eco-friendly movements.

Some anti-EV advocates like to spread disinformation, claiming that the mining processes for lithium batteries negate any environmental benefits these vehicles might have. However, it’s been shown through various studies that driving electric cars cuts pollution in a way that mitigates the resources used in manufacturing those batteries.

Having witnessed aggressive protests against Tesla lately, we can directly link this to the growing anti-EV mood due to Musk’s increasing willingness to engage in politics.

The billionaire has amplified his public stance on social issues, especially during 2024 when he aligned closely with Donald Trump, becoming one of his most vocal supporters during Trump’s presidential campaign. Musk’s influence only skyrocketed when Trump appointed him to head the Department of Government Efficiency, which led to numerous job cuts within government programs, triggering more protests and resulting in vandalism against Tesla products.

Interestingly, the TikTok creator is actually not a Musk fan. Even though she detests him and his brands, she mentioned that the car came into her possession as part of a divorce deal and was meant to be sold prior to the vandalism incident.

“Now, I’m stuck with this piece of junk for longer than planned,” she lamented. “It just complicates my life as I try to get rid of it.”

Users on her video echoed her frustrations, suggesting that if anyone wants to oppose Tesla, they should take their anger out where it really matters — at Tesla sites, instead of hurting the users caught in the middle. One commenter expressed his outrage saying, “What a backwards way to voice your dissent.” Another also chimed in with, “This is awful, I’m sorry you had to deal with this!”
