The iconic 50 Cent is helping make OU fans cheer louder with a fresh fourth-quarter ritual.
His hit song “Many Men (Wish Death)” now fills Owen Field as Sooners supporters hype up every game heading into the final quarter. Fans first got to enjoy this new game day tradition when it was played at the end of the third quarter during OU’s victory against Missouri, accompanied by a highlight reel of key moments from the season.
During the playoff showdown against Alabama, the reverberations of 50 Cent’s music electrified Oklahoma Memorial Stadium as he reinforced his 2003 track as a beloved custom for the Sooners. The team was trailing by ten as they approached the fourth quarter but managed to find the end zone just two plays later.
Quarterback John Mateer shared his excitement post-game: “That was awesome. We love that song!”
Gracen Halton, a defensive lineman, added that the song gets pumped in their locker room before practices and games. “I was surprised to hear it. Everyone wonders what the fourth quarter song will be, so hearing ‘Many Men’ was a real treat. I want to keep that going!”
