Amy Schumer has just revealed her split from Chris Fischer, her husband of seven years, in a rather quirky Instagram statement.
The famous stand-up comedian and star of Trainwreck have a seven-year-old son named Gene.
In her Instagram post, Schumer wrote, “blah blah blah Chris and I have decided to end our marriage after seven years. We still love each other a lot and will keep our focus on raising our son together. We ask for your respect for our privacy during this time.” Check it out here!
Noticeably brimming with her signature humor, Schumer also joked that their divorce isn’t tied to her recent weight loss or how attractive she finds her husband.
She further clarified, “Blah blah blah not because I lost some weight and thought ‘Wow, I can get some action now’ or because he’s this hot award-winning chef still turning heads. It’s all amicable—it’s all love and respect! Family forever!”
Schumer had hinted at some tension in her relationship with Fischer earlier this month by addressing concerns related to her weight loss, stating, “Whatever happens between Chris and me has nothing to do with weight loss or autism. Fingers crossed everything works out. He’s seriously the best.”
In 2022, she had disclosed that Fischer was diagnosed with autism.
Schumer’s statements come after she found herself in the spotlight regarding her body. She has made it clear that she underwent plastic surgery and is currently utilizing the weight-loss drug Mounjaro.
“I don’t wear jewelry. No Botox, no fillers. I didn’t just lose 30 pounds; I lost 50. Not to look hot, although that does feel fun momentarily. I did it to survive, dealing with a condition that causes extreme facial swelling that can be life-threatening,” she revealed.
Furthermore, she had previously shared her journey with Cushing syndrome, a condition that results from excess cortisol production, leading to weight gain in the upper body and face.
“Sorry if my weight loss is giving you weird feelings,” she added. “I’ve had some plastic surgeries over the years, and I’m currently on Mounjaro.”
