Brett Favre Suggests New Halftime Performer for the Super Bowl

In a recent episode of his podcast, “4th & Favre,” NFL legend Brett Favre talked about who he thinks should headline the Super Bowl halftime show next year in Santa Clara, California. Rather than picking Bad Bunny, who has stirred some controversy, Favre expressed a desire for a more patriotic performer.

Bad Bunny, the Grammy-winning artist, received criticism after making negative comments about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, prompting some fans to voice their disapproval of his selection.

Favre stated, “I would choose someone like Jason Aldean, or generally someone who has love for this country and can connect with everyone. Jason Aldean brings a patriot vibe and a fantastic voice. But personally, George Strait resonates with me too—it’s a classic choice. There are plenty of options out there!”

He reminisced about the emotional impact of Whitney Houston singing the national anthem and how memorable moments in music and sport can ignite feelings in everyone. Favre highlighted that while the halftime show and the anthem are different, they both carry significant weight.

Even after the feedback about Bad Bunny’s inclusion, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell affirmed that he remains firm on the decision. “This is carefully considered; artists often receive some backlash upon selection. With such enormous viewership, it’s a challenge to pick without pushing a few buttons,” Goodell explained.

He is confident that the upcoming show will provide an exciting and unifying experience. “We believe it’s going to be phenomenal. Bad Bunny is aware of the importance of his position, so we’re anticipating it will genuinely resonate,” he said.
