Cardi B recently sat down with Gayle King to discuss a big change in her life—she’s pregnant with her fourth child, and she’s decided to keep this exciting news a bit of a secret for now.
Highlights
- Cardi B shares the real reasons behind her choice to keep her pregnancy quiet.
- In an interview on CBS Mornings, she revealed her fourth baby is on the way, this time with her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs.
- The rapper is already a mother to three kids with Offset: two daughters Blossom and Kulture, as well as a son, Wave.
During the candid chat for the show, the 32-year-old rapper explained why she needed some time before announcing her pregnancy. “I just felt like…I want to share this news when I’m ready,” she told King, emphasizing it wasn’t about hiding, but more about making sure everything was right first.
“Let me make sure a couple of sonograms look good first, let my baby be healthy before I shout it from the rooftops!” Cardi added, showing her more cautious side.
Interestingly enough, she hadn’t even told her parents the news by the time of the interview. “I really just wanted to break it to them right before the interview airs,” Cardi confessed, laughing, “I’m honestly kind of scared of them!” She reassured King that her parents are fond of her new partner, even though they like to be kept in the dark sometimes.
Diggs, the running back for the Buffalo Bills, already has an 8-year-old daughter named Nova from a previous relationship. Meanwhile, Cardi B shares her three kids—daughters Kulture and Blossom, along with son Wave—with Offset, her estranged husband. Offset also has kids from prior relationships.
Aside from preparing for her growing family, Cardi is gearing up for another busy chapter in her career with a 32-city tour on the horizon. She joked, “Now that I mentioned the album and baby, y’all better hit those streaming services—got babies to feed!”
Though she didn’t specify a due date or the baby’s sex, Cardi did note her little one is expected to arrive just before her tour kicks off in February. She’s confident that she’ll be ready to perform, sharing with King, “Pregnant or not, I’m always ready! I’ve trained myself for this—strong women endure!”
