Conservatives Push Back After ‘The View’ Claims They’re Too Scared to Appear

Looks like the hosts of ABC’s “The View” stirred the pot again. After a recent episode featuring actress Cheryl Hines, one of the co-hosts, Joy Behar, suggested that some Republicans might be too scared to come on the show. However, a bunch of high-profile conservatives are stepping in with some serious receipts proving they are more than willing to make an appearance.

Behar’s comment followed Hines’ guest spot, where the hosts discussed their desire for more politically diverse guests on the show. That’s when Joy tossed in her two cents about how Republicans are “afraid.”

But not everyone is buying that. Conservative radio personality Clay Travis took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his dissent, saying, “Joy Behar says Republicans are scared to come on The View. This is a lie. I’m super interested in dropping by!”

Travis followed up with a screenshot of an email his producer sent to the show. In the email, he expressed interest in him and his co-host Buck Sexton visiting New York for a feature, suggesting that the two sides would provide refreshing, different viewpoints.

Sexton jumped on the conversation, also hinting that “The View” might not be too keen on having them as guests.

OutKick’s own Riley Gaines, a prominent advocate for women’s sports, shared her experience, posting, “They declined my offer to appear when pitched!” along with a clip of Behar asserting Republicans are apprehensive about joining the talk show.

Matt Walsh, another conservative commentator, chimed in saying he’s also faced a no-show after expressing interest in appearing.

New details have emerged revealing that email communications acquired by Fox News Digital show requests for several conservative personalities, including Gaines and Walsh, have either been outright rejected or ignored by the show’s booker. Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer was reportedly told there wasn’t enough “room” for him, even suggesting he come to discuss issues on Veterans Day.

Earlier this year, NewsBusters reported on how Texas Senator Ted Cruz, a former guest, also wanted to promote his book on “The View,” but his invitation was denied. Cruz later referenced Gaines’ social media statement saying, “Me too!”

Jennifer Sey, a business owner, humorously responded, “It’s quite funny. We have no fear! It’s you guys, who shut us down every time we’re pitched.”

Many outraged users took their sentiments online expressing how it seems that conservative voices aren’t welcomed on the show.

Over time, some notable conservatives have graced the program, such as Cruz, Caitlyn Jenner, Donald Trump Jr., former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Senator Marsha Blackburn, representing a spectrum of opinions.

Yet, a lot of critics argue there’s a lack of representation for Trump supporters, with the only available conservative voice, Alyssa Farah Griffin, often picking apart Trump’s presidency alongside her predominately left-leaning co-hosts, many of whom supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections.
