When Jolene shows up with flowers, you know something serious is going down. Dolly Parton has announced that she’s postponing her Las Vegas residency because of some “health challenges” that need urgent attention. She shared on social media, “My doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures… It’s like my 100,000-mile check-up, but it’s not a routine visit to my plastic surgeon!” In all seriousness, Dolly made it clear that she won’t be able to rehearse or create the vibrant show that she envisions for her fans.
This announcement comes after a rough time for Dolly, whose husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, recently passed at the age of 82. For now, she’s working from home in Nashville and urged fans not to worry about her retiring from the music scene. “God hasn’t given me the green light to stop yet,” she mentioned. But she recognizes that it’s time to take things a bit slower to prepare for big new adventures.
Speaking of big adventures, she is looking forward to a jukebox musical about her life, set to hit Broadway in 2026, while still holding her throne at Dollywood.
