Dylan Efron in Hospital Following Accident

Dylan Efron recently had a bit of a scare during rehearsals for Dancing With the Stars. He confirmed that he suffered a broken nose after an accidental elbow from his dance partner, Daniella Karagach.

On October 25, Efron shared a clip on Instagram, showing him in a medical chair with an ice pack on his face. “Broke my nose, but don’t need it to dance,” he wrote, assuring fans he’s doing fine.

“Seriously, all good,” he added in the caption.

The Accident Details

In the video snippet from the hospital, Efron recounted the mishap, revealing that the accident took place while they were trying out a new dance move shortly before midnight. He explained:

“I took an elbow right here. And it made a really loud crack. So, not how I wanted to end the rehearsal day, but we’ll be back dancing tomorrow.”

He also took a moment to thank Daniella and other fellow cast members who stuck with him after the incident. Efron appreciated the support from Karagach, talented dancer Pasha Pashkov, and celebrity contestant Danielle Fishel, noting how much their company during his time of need meant to him.

Keen to bounce back, Efron assured everyone that there’s nothing stopping them from stealing the show again in the upcoming Halloween-themed episode after a recent triumphant performance.

Support from fellow Cast Members

His honest update didn’t go unnoticed by other cast members of Dancing With the Stars. Val Chmerkovskiy expressed shock over the news, while fellow contestant Robert Irwin wished Dylan a speedy recovery. Mark Ballas and Emma Slater also sent their best wishes, with Ballas encouraging him to “stay strong” and Slater showing optimism.

The injury came right after Efron and Karagach had wowed the judges with a magnificent rumba to I’m Not That Girl from Wicked, scoring 32 out of 40.

Looking ahead, they have a Viennese waltz planned to perform during the Halloween episode, set to air on October 28. The song they’ll be dancing to is a new cover of Elvis Presley’s legendary Can’t Help Falling in Love.

Family and Past Performances

Earlier in the competition, Efron brought his younger sister Olivia on stage to perform a routine to Rewrite the Stars, achieving a remarkable score of 36 out of 40 and receiving compliments from the judges. He said that Olivia was initially hesitant but ultimately shined during the performance:

“When I first asked her, she was like, ‘No, there’s no way.’ Then she showed up and absolutely nailed it.”

Dylan has also remarked on the personal support he’s received from his brother, actor Zac Efron, who, while absent from the audience for now, has been cheering him on behind the scenes.
