Reflecting on turning 61 just a few months ago, Murphy captioned her photo, “This is 61…WITHOUT a facelift, without any makeup,” emphasizing that she’s perfectly content with her natural look.

She went on to express her thoughts, stating, “I’m not sure why so many random people on social media feel the need to speculate about my appearance; but I haven’t had any work done. I guess it’s a backhanded compliment that you think I look good ‘for my age.'” She then shared some personal details, including scars from past accidents and how joyful experiences have left their mark on her face, saying, “I’ve got smile lines because I laugh more than I cry. I enjoy the sunshine, so I’ve got some freckles and a little tan.”

In a gentle nudge to those inclined to comment negatively online, Murphy encouraged them to embrace an old saying: if you don’t have something nice to say, maybe it’s better to stay silent. She added a positive note, inviting everyone to step outside and appreciate nature, wrapping up her message with, “That’s where I’ll be. 🌞”

In response to Murphy’s candid post, fans showed their support, with one comment saying, “You are absolutely beautiful; don’t change a thing.” Another added encouragement, praising her fresh-faced beauty that many try now to emulate through cosmetic procedures.

It might be surprising, but more than 50 years have passed since Murphy danced around witches’ magic as Tabitha in Bewitched. One fan humorously remarked, “Everyone knows witches age differently from mortals” in light of Murphy’s ageless appearance.

The show ran from 1964 to 1972, and some fans may recall that Murphy’s referenced scar was actually a part of Bewitched, woven into an episode titled “Tabitha’s Very Own Samantha.” In a memorable scene, Samantha checks on Tabitha’s chin, saying, “Maybe the next time I tell you you’re too young to fly, you’ll pay attention to me!”

In an interview with PEOPLE celebrating the show’s 60th anniversary, Murphy credited the devoted fanbase for keeping the show’s legacy alive. “People love the show; they watched it as kids and now their kids and grandkids enjoy it too,” she expressed. “The magic along with great writing and acting helps it stand the test of time.”
