Exciting news in the horror movie scene! Jacobi Jupe, who made waves in ‘Hamnet’, is set to star in Blumhouse’s upcoming ‘Exorcist’ film, as reported by TheWrap. This collaboration is backed by Morgan Creek Entertainment, all under the umbrella of Universal Pictures.

The talented Mike Flanagan, known for hits like ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, will also write and direct this fresh entry through his Red Room Pictures. Look forward to catching the filming in bustling New York City.

Unlike previous entries, this film introduces a completely different storyline within the ‘Exorcist’ universe and is not a sequel to last year’s ‘The Exorcist: Believer.’ It’s a joint effort of Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Morgan Creek, and Flanagan himself.

Additionally, Alexandra Magistro is slated to serve as an executive producer under Red Room Pictures, with David Robinson from Morgan Creek Entertainment producing as well. Jason Blum and Ryan Turek will work as producer and executive producer respectively for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.

Currently, you can catch Jupe in Chloe Zhao’s acclaimed ‘Hamnet,’ where he stars alongside Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal; the film recently premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.

Last year, he also wowed audiences opposite Billy Crystal in the psychological thriller miniseries ‘Before’ on Apple TV+. Jupe is a part of David Lowery’s ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’, playing Michael Darling alongside Jude Law in Disney+’s adaptation.

His television resume isn’t short of impressive either, featuring on ‘Britannia’ created by Jez and Tom Butterworth for Amazon/Epix. Furthermore, he plays a leading role in the musical podcast ‘Cupid,’ crafted by Katy Cavanagh-Jupe and produced by QCode and Double Garage Films.

For representation, Jacobi is with Independent Talent Group, Brillstein Entertainment Group, and others in the industry.

Deadline was the first to break this exciting update.
