On Thursday, well-known Democratic strategist James Carville made headlines by apologizing and deciding to remove parts of a previous podcast that were linked to Jeffrey Epstein. This move came after legal pushback from the first lady, Melania Trump.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Carville shared, “After the episode aired, we got a letter from Melania Trump’s legal representation. They raised concerns about the title of one of the YouTube videos related to that episode and some comments I made regarding the first lady.”

He further mentioned, “Upon reviewing their complaints, we decided to take down the video and eliminate the contentious remarks from the episode. I also retract those statements and sincerely apologize for them.”

Specifically, the controversy stemmed from a portion where Carville talked about the first lady’s past interaction with Epstein, noting that she had met him at New York’s Kit Kat Klub, as she mentions in her memoir.

A spokesperson for Melania Trump’s office stated, “The First Lady’s attorneys are actively pursuing retractions and apologies from anyone spreading harmful and unfounded claims. The accurate story of how she met President Trump is detailed in her popular book, ‘Melania.'”

In reply to Carville’s statements, Melania posted a graphic on X with a transcript of his apology alongside a screenshot of the initial podcast episode, where he had crossed out his previous words.

Recently, the administration has faced increased pressure from conservative groups demanding the release of any documents associated with Epstein. Meanwhile, Democrats are capitalizing on these divisions within the GOP.

In a related development, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) has subpoenaed former President Clinton to speak about his ties to Epstein during congressional hearings.
