In a recent conversation with the Wall Street Journal, Jason revealed that he feels more recognized now than during his NFL days, making their pursuit of a ‘normal’ life increasingly challenging. “I’m on TV all the time, and it’s hard not to notice how much our public life has changed. It’s different not just for me but for my entire family,” he said, adding, “We do our best to keep things as normal as possible, but it’s becoming tougher. “
Jason shared how they try to enjoy outings as a family, saying, “We might go to Disney World, and while we’re there, we might take a few extra pictures than usual in some spots.”
As the father of four daughters, Jason, now 38, hosts a podcast called New Heights with his brother Travis Kelce. He often shares perspectives on parenting alongside wife Kylie, who is 33 and also deeply involved in their children’s lives.
When discussing their parenting style, Jason noted, “Kylie and I have a solid understanding with each other. We’re both pretty strict with the girls.” Yet he humorously acknowledged that he finds himself at a disadvantage in the ‘girl dad’ category, joking, “Seeing my only sister, Travis, grow up doesn’t quite prepare you for this.”Upon learning he was going to have a daughter, he explained, “I thought I’d raise her like a boy — tough and disciplined. No way would I turn into the ‘daddy’s little girl’ type. But once she arrived, it became pretty tough to be that tough dad—especially when they give you the look that melts your heart!”
Interestingly, Jason believes that Kylie stands firm when it comes to resisting their daughters’ charms. “When it’s something serious, I definitely put my foot down, unlike when it’s just a treat or something small with no real significance,” he explained.
Even amid the challenges of parenting, Jason often shares heartwarming moments with his kids during his podcast episodes. Recently, he disclosed his favorite music genre and its connection to his daughter. During a recording, he mentioned that doo-wop had stolen the spotlight on his Spotify Wrapped for 2025.
“Doo-wop is my top genre because I sing those tunes to Finnley to keep her calm—she loves it! It just puts her right to peace when Fleetwood and doo-wop hits play,” he told Travis.
